Despite the Haze …

Our recent visit to the Clacton Airshow was marred by unfavourable flying conditions, which prevented many of the scheduled aircraft from attending …

Although day was very hot and sunny – and seemingly perfect for a fabulous flying display – there was a build-up of hazy cloud offshore that was not apparent to us visitors, until we struggled to see the Typhoon perform its impressive manoeuvres.

I had come primed with my 400mm lens, hoping to get some close-up images of the Lancaster, Flying Fortress and Vampire pair amongst others – this was sadly not to be.

Luckily, however, the Red Arrows came up trumps …
