Ted the Cat

Time to do a blog about my new camera….I have been unable to take as many shots as I would have liked to – mainly due to the weather – but I have focussed on some indoor shots of Ted – the family cat. I am not sure he is too keen on me pointing a 24-105 lens at him, however, I have attempted all these shots without flash – concentrating on either aperture priority to obtain a good blurred background – or a fast shutter speed for the action shots. It has given me some good opportunities to practise with the different focus zones on the 5D, and to keep in mind that eyes are the key to a good shot – whether it be people or animals. I am particularly found of the ‘begging’ shot – and the ‘lazing on the sofa’ shots – these would definitely be in my ‘Pet Portfolio’………
