I was lucky enough to get an early opportunity to try out the Canon 5D Mk111 last weekend…..

I have to admit that the controls were set to automatic, as I hadn’t had time to read up at all on settings etc. I thought that it would make sense to use the 24-105 lens, as it would give me flexibility, and I took all these shots without flash.

There were a lot of distracting backgrounds and the depth of field ‘foxed’ me a few times – however I was extremely pleased with the results… The clarity was amazing – and I managed to achieve blurred backgrounds on auto mode !! Most shots were taken between 85 – 100 mm, and the best subject matter without a doubt was the posse of excited children – my cousins’ offspring – so Gorgeous and so Innocent……!!!

  1. Oh Amanda, these portraits are fantastic. You must be so thrilled. I was impressed by your Spanish photos and now with the 5D, your brilliant eye for a good shot, you can be as creative as you like with superb quality – the sky’s your limit!
